Alzheimer's Test

Alzheimer's is a disease that mainly affects memory.
Millions of people each year are victims of this affection, deterioring their personalities and their ability to achieve daily activities.
Every affected person, as well as the close people around, will suffer a terrible experience.

For a long time, everybody thought that no prevention could be done to avoid this awful disease.
The deterioration of normal abilities was considered as a result of aging and accepted as is.

But researchers today have claimed Alzheimer as a disease, which process can be slowed down.

The main symptom is the gradual loss of memory especially for people from 65 years and above. But it is not the only symptom. Other signs can be used to diagnose the disease.

Specialized doctors to make a diagnosis use different tests. Several signs must be analyzed with a variety of tests, such as physical and mental assessments. But for now, any of the tests available that are officially considered as efficient.

Nevertheless, recent progresses and advances on the medical field have allowed to use testing tools that can help to effectively detect symptoms of the disease in its earlier stages, with about 90 percent accuracy.

Divers tests are available. A professor of psychology at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, has recently developed a new set of testing called the Seven Shriveled Screen, that detects early signs of Alzheimer's disease as well as other forms of dementias.

It is Paul Solomon who developed this set of four tests that can be administered to patients in just less than ten minutes.
The average is seven minutes and forty three seconds.
The process has another advantage: with just an hour of basic training, any medical professional can administrate the test.

Apart from the tests, researches are made in the field of scanning technology such as lusty resonance imaging or MRI to identify even the smallest damage to the brain in order to start a curing process of Alzheimer as soon as possible.
