Asthma Food Allergy

Many patients suffering of food allergy have Asthma. Asthma and eczema are associated in this case with atopic patients.

Atopy has three manifestations including asthma. Many people are not aware they have a food allergy, as it is usually associated with disorders such as hay fever and eczema.

Moreover, this disturbance may cause delayed or going on asthma patterns. The delayed motive can bring about bronchitis and/or chronic asthma. The immediate reactions are blood pressure that is a consequence of an anaphylactic response to food.

Food allergy and Asthma: basic ideas, causes and treatments:

  • asthma is an allergy

  • allergies are mainly caused by food sources and air patterns

  • asthma can be relieved through diet changes and better air standards

Three basic choices have to be made in order to treat asthma: removing the cause, treating the symptoms, and altering the causes.

Asthma is mostly known as an allergy due to air conditions. Food allergy is often forgotten as a factor. Most doctors don’t look into this field. They rely on drug therapies. Skin tests are also used for diagnosis but the symptoms don’t appear immediately. Sometimes, it can take hours or even days.

The process is the following: if a person ingests food that he or she is allergic to, the food allergens go straight in the bloodstream and it triggers the immune mediators' release. These chemicals are causing symptoms like bronchial muscle constriction, which is what occurs during an asthma attack. Airflow decreases in bronchial tubes, which is a phase associated with chronic asthma.

Most of the times, antibiotics are given, over and over again. But the truth is that antibiotics can increase risks of advance allergic reactions. Oversize or regular treatment with this kind of medication can lead to long - standing deterioration.
There is another way to prevent from chronic asthma symptoms through a proper diet, watching airborne patterns and a proper medication:

Consulting a specialised physician, a diet plan can be made in relation with food allergies. Once identified, a planning can be organized considering the food to avoid.
This is a commitment with regular visits to the doctor and it can take time. Friends or relatives can be a good support in finding a proper specialist with good reputation. Before, it might be useful to check the Internet can be useful too: there are many medical advises related to food allergy.
