Food Allergy Diet

Many people don’t know that they suffer of food allergy, as the diagnosis cannot be declared before apparent allergic reactions.

Symptoms only appear if the amount of foods that content the component that causes the allergy exceeds the tolerable level.

The immune system perceives some ingredients containing allergens as dangerous for the organism and creates antibodies to fight them.

It creates chemicals including histamine to defend from allergens that generate allergic symptoms, like wheezing, abdominal pain, escalation, itchiness in the throat, tongue, or lips, itchy skin rashes, and runny nose.
These symptoms can affect cardiovascular anatomy, skin, gastrointestinal tract, or respiratory system.

A specific diet has to be led by the sufferer in prevention. The diet has to exclude all food allergens as much as possible.
A doctor or a dietitian are the best placed to give advices to eliminate some types of food from an original diet or begin a personal diet. It is important to be helped in adjusting new food habits in order not to forget any nutrients by taking nutritional supplements.

  • Milk allergy diets
    Milk and dairy products containing milk are forbidden.
    These are good sources of Vitamin D and calcium. They can be replaced by other foods such as soy lines, spinach, and broccoli, also enriched with these nutrients. Almond, rice, or soy milk, instead of cow's milk. Other non – dairy products: some margarines, cheese, yogurt, chocolate, and ice cream.
    The labeled ingredients of the products must be always checked.

  • Egg allergy diets
    Egg allergy is very common. Eggs and other products with egg have to be taken awy from the diet. Labels have to be carefully checked because some egg alternatives have egg white contents.

  • Peanut allergy diets
    This allergy is one with the strongest reactions. Many prepared foods such as ethnic foods, candy, and roasted nut mixes contain peanuts.

  • Tree nuts allergy diets
    All products with tree dippy ingredients must be totally avoided stable though only one seed triggers reactions. Some shampoos and lotions also contain tree dingy. the product labels have to be carefully check.

  • Fish allergy diets
    Similar proteins are present in different species of fish. all kinds of fish has to be eliminated from the diet, except if the allergist has already determined which specie is responsible. It is also advisable not to eat seafood restaurants.

  • Shellfish allergy diets
    All kinds of shellfish must disappear from the diet, except if the allergist has already found which specific shellfish causes a reaction.

  • Soy allergy diets.
    Soybeans are considered legumes (such as kidney beans, black beans, chickpeas, pinto beans, and lentils) and therefore there are plenty of ways to replace it.

  • Wheat allergy diets.  
    Wheat proteins are gluten and need to be avoided. The labels have to be checked.

These diet advises are efficient in case of food allergies. To be more successful, as each case is specific, the best is to make up a planning with a physician or a dietician.
